British fraudster Jim McCormick sold $20 novelty golf ball finders as Explosive detectors for $60,000.

With clients including the Iraqi police and governments, police and military services in Niger, Georgia, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

As well as purporting the golf ball finders as bomb detectors has also passed them off as high-tech tools for finding traces of drugs and illegal materials such as ivory.

And claimed that they were effective through walls, underwater and up to 30ft underground.
